March in Room 7- Ms. Finnerty

27th Mar 2022

We enjoyed some delicious Pancakes to celebrate Pancake Tuesday. Some of us enjoyed Nutella while others chose the traditional lemon and sugar.

We studied the artist Keith Haring. We read the picture book 'The Boy Who Just Kept Drawing' written by Kay Haring (Keith's sister). Once we had learned about Keith's work and style of art, we had a dance party! We played some 80's music and once the music stopped, we froze. Our partners then drew the body shape that we had made. We also created life sized murals in our pods.

We have completed lots more STEM Challenges. We also explored many inspiring women to celebrate International Women's Day. Some projects included Malala Yousafzai, Anne Frank, Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks and Katie Taylor. During our art lesson, we practiced drawing portraits to accompany our projects.

We also took part in a drumming workshop. We practiced our beat and tempo skills using both our bodies and drumsticks and played to the music of 'We Will Rock You' by Queen.

Ms Keogh has been teaching us all about 3D shapes. We constructed different shapes using cocktail sticks and jellies... it was difficult to avoid the temptation of eating the jellies.
